The 30-year-old India National Cricket Team all-rounder Shivam Dube was the shining light for his side in the second T20I of the three-match series against Afghanistan National Cricket Team at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore on Sunday, January 14.
Dube was one of the key reasons behind the victory of the Rohit Sharma-led side in the first two T20I matches against the Ibrahim Zadran-led Afghanistan. He delivered a wonderful performance both with the bat and ball in both matches and helped India seal victories and take an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the series.
In both matches, Shivam Dube bagged one wicket and remained unbeaten to steer India to a victory. In the first game, he scored an unbeaten 60 runs and in the second match, he slammed 63 runs off 32 balls, with 5 fours and 4 sixes.
Dube played wonderful strokes in the second T20I in Indore and made the bowlers look clueless. He timed the ball to perfection and smashed some sensational-looking boundaries in the match. His best came when he launched an attack on the senior all-rounder Mohammad Nabi, hitting three consecutive sixes to push Afghanistan out of the match.

Many expected him to finish the match with a boundary, but it didn’t happen as he took a single off leg bye on the fourth ball of the 16th over, which was bowled by Fazalhaq Farooqi, to complete the easy run-chase.
After the match, two Afghanistan players, who looked impressed with the all-rounder were seen checking the bat of Shivam Dube. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared the clip of India’s match-winning moment on their X handle and in the video, the Afghanistan stars were seen saying something to Dube while checking his bat.
