IND vs AFG: Watch - "Mahi Bhai, Sun Lo..." - Shivam Dube Makes Hilarious Request To MS Dhoni

Indian batter Shivam Dube was at his best during the first T20I against Afghanistan in Punjab. The Chennai Super Kings batter was one of the main reasons behind Team India thumping the opposition in the first match and taking the lead of 1-0. 

Shivam Dube displayed great all-round skills as he contributed equally well with bat and ball. The all-rounder first chipped in with the ball and picked one wicket. What caught the attention of many with the lines and lengths he bowled. 

Shivam Dube seemed unplayable as he bowled 2 overs and gave only 9 runs. After that, he oozed his class with the bat. The left-hander played a brutal knock while batting at No.4 and took the game away from the opposition with the kind of innings that he played. 

Shivam Dube smashed his second T20I half-century and ended with the knock of 60 runs off 40 balls. He batted with a strike rate of 140 and also hit 5 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. He played a perfect role in the middle order and took his team home. 

After the match, Shivam Dube interacted with broadcasters, and Suresh Raina was present too. The southpaw said that he was waiting for his opportunity with the ball and he is glad that he performed. Speaking to Jio Cinema, he explained: 

“I was really waiting for my opportunity in bowling. I finally got it today and performed well.” 

Replying to this, Suresh Raina was amazed by the way Shivam Dube bowled and hilariously called out MS Dhoni, saying that the all-rounder deserves three overs for CSK in the upcoming IPL. He stated: 

“Mahi bhai dekha abhi, Chennai me iska teen over pakke hain (Dhoni just saw his performance and is hence guaranteed three overs of bowling in Chennai).” 

Replying to this, Shivam Dube burst into laughter and made a hilarious request to MS Dhoni, saying: “Mahi bhai, sun lo aap (Dhoni, please listen to this).”

IND vs AFG: I had one thing in my mind that I have to play my game – Shivam Dube after his heroics 

Shivam Dube opened up about his innings in the first T20I against Afghanistan. He said that he enjoyed playing in Mohali and had only one thing on his mind that he had to back his game. 

Shivan Dube admitted that he also felt pressure early on his innings. He also talked about his bowling, saying that he executed his plans. He explained: 

“It was really cold. I enjoyed playing on this ground. Playing after a long time and batting at number four, there was some pressure one me. I had one thing in my mind that I have to play my game. First 2-3 balls, I feel a bit of pressure, after that I just focus on the ball and I don’t think much on what’s going on. In T20s, I know what I bat, and I know I can hit big sixes, so I can generate runs any time. Bowling, today I got the opportunity and I executed what I needed.” 

Shivam Dube will be next seen in action when India take on Afghanistan in the second T20I on 14th January in Indore.
