IND vs AUS: Assistant Coach Andre Borovec To Coach Australia For The First Time During T20I Series In India

Australia head coach Andrew McDonald will take a break and head home following the conclusion of the ICC World Cup 2023. Assistant coach Andre Borovec will take over the charge of the senior team for the first time in the upcoming five-match T20I series in India.
Australia will extend their stay in India after the World Cup to participate in a T20I series against the India team. The series will kick off in Visakhapatnam on November 23, followed by matches in Thiruvananthapuram, Guwahati, Nagpur, and Hyderabad, respectively.
Andre Borovec Set To Coach In Five-Match T20I Series
Andrew McDonald will return home after the ODI World Cup to rest and prepare for the Test season. McDonald had previously taken a break during the T20I series against South Africa. Assistant coach Michael Di Venuto assumed coaching responsibilities in South Africa.
Andre Borovec will have the opportunity to coach the national side for the first time with both McDonald and Di Venuto on breaks. Borovec was added to Australia’s coaching staff as a full-time assistant when McDonald assumed the head coaching role in May last year.
Matthew Wade To Lead Australia Against India
Australia rested senior players, including Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood, for the T20I series against India. Matthew Wade will captain the squad in the series. Notably, veteran players, including David Warner and Steve Smith, are part of the squad.
Tim David, Sean Abbott, Josh Inglis, Jason Behrendorff, and Nathan Ellis have been included in the T20I squad. Matt Short, Spencer Johnson, and Tanveer Sangha have retained their spots in the shorter format. However, Ashton Agar will miss the series due to injury.
