The T20 World Cup 2024 is heading to its final stages now as the Super 8 stage is about to end. With just two matches remaining in the Super 8 stage, the commentators for those matches have been announced as well.

Both these matches are going to be important for the teams involved. While the semi-finalists from Group 2 have been decided, no team has secured the qualification from Group 1. The first match will be between India and Australia while the second match will be between Afghanistan and Bangladesh.

Commentators for the India vs Australia match

The commentary panel for the high-profile India vs Australia match is studded with commentary stars from both the countries. It includes Ravi Shastri, Harsha Bhogle, Dinesh Karthik, Ricky Ponting, Sunil Gavaskar, Aaron Finch, Kass Naidoo.

It is likely to be a high-octane clash between the two high-profile cricket teams in the world. The match will be played at Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet, St. Lucia on June 24. This match will be a repeat of the ODI World Cup 2023 final.

While Australia will be fighting to keep their semi-final hopes alive after a shocking loss to Afghanistan in their previous match, India are in a much better position and even a narrow defeat would ensure their qualification to the semis.

If the match is washed out due to rain, India will qualify for the semi-finals as the No. 1 ranked team from Group 1. Meanwhile, a washed out game will not be good news for Australia as they will then require Bangladesh to defeat Afghanistan in the final Super 8 match to have a chance to qualify.

Commentators for the Afghanistan vs Bangladesh match

Meanwhile, another important Group 1 match will be played between Afghanistan and Bangladesh at Arnos Vale Ground, Kingstown, St Vincent on June 25. The commentary panel for this match includes Ian Smith, Simon Doull, Tom Moody, Pommie Mbangwa, Athar Ali Khan, Lisa Sthalekar.

While Bangladesh have a little chance to qualify given their margin of defeats in both their Super 8 games, Afghanistan have a golden chance of making to the semis of the World Cup for the first time ever.

Afghanistan will hope India to beat Australia after which they will be required to beat Bangladesh in this game to make it to the semis. If the match between India and Australia is washed out, Afghanistan can qualify by beating Bangladesh in this match.

Golden chance for Afghanistan

Afghanistan will believe this is their best chance to script history. Their win over Australia in their last match was a surprising result but it is the fact that they have been excellent in the tournament so far. They have already registered victories over big teams like New Zealand and Australia and will be aiming for even more now.

South Africa and England are the only teams so far to have secured their qualification for the semi-finals. While South Africa has topped Group 2, England have qualified as the second-best team. South Africa and India are the only unbeaten teams in the tournament so far.
