Suryakumar Yadav has said that he dreamt of playing in ICC ODI World Cups a lot of times. Suryakumar Yadav is part of the India squad in the ICC World Cup 2023 and will play his first-ever ODI World Cup.
Suryakumar Yadav is one of the middle-order batters for India in the ICC World Cup 2023. Yadav impressed with his fabulous show in T20Is to earn a place in the ODI format. Shreyas Iyer’s absence from the team this year also helped him to get regular opportunities in ODIs. Even after Shreyas Iyer’s comeback, both Iyer and Yadav got a place in India’s squad for ICC World Cup 2023.

Dreamt A Lot Of Times For Playing In ODI World Cup- Suryakumar Yadav
Indian Cricket Team shared a video on Instagram in which Indian players shared their views on playing their first ODI World Cup. In the video, Suryakumar Yadav said that he always dreamt of playing for India. He also added that he dreamt a lot of times about playing in ODI World Cups.
“Firstly, I always dreamt of playing for India. When you get an opportunity to come to an ICC event like a 50-over World Cup, it is a big event. Of course, I have dreamt of it a lot of times and I am here really excited and really looking forward to it”, the right-handed batter said.
“I still remember I opened my first India jersey in 2021. I still remember when I made my debut for India and this (pointing to ICC World Cup logo in his jersey) is really special”, Yadav further added.
Along with Suryakumar Yadav, other ODI World Cup debutants like Shardul Thakur, Shubman Gill, Mohammed Siraj, Shreyas Iyer, and Ishan Kishan also shared their views in the video. Have a look at the video below.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma is set to lead India in the ICC World Cup 2023. India will play their opening match on October 8 against Australia at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. ICC World Cup 2023 begins on Thursday, October 5 with England vs New Zealand clash.
