Indian wicketkeeper Sanju Samson has revealed his desire to everybody after his stunning show in the recent T20I series against Bangladesh. He desires to play Test cricket for India once.
Sanju Samson also made himself available for the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024. The Indian wicketkeeper is part of Kerala Team in the tournament. Notably, he was in the limelight in the recent series against Bangladesh.
The right-handed batsman emerged as the highest-ever run-getter in the series with 150 runs in 3 games. At an average of 50+ and striker ate of 205+ across three games, he grabbed the rare T20I record of smacking a century.

Samson got out for 29 and 10 in the first two games and failed to make a mark as an opener. However, he bounced back in India vs Bangladesh 3rd T20I to smack 111-run knock-off 47 balls with 11 fours and 8 sixes.
He won the Man of the Match award for his outstanding show as India defeated Bangladesh with a huge margin of 133 runs with their highest-ever total of 297-3. With Samson's and Suryakumar Yadav's (75) dominating attack, the Men-in-Blue shattered many records in T20I cricket.
Now, Sanju Samson is all set to play in the Ranji Trophy 2024 for his home team Kerala. According to reports, the wicketkeeper batter reached out to the Kerala Selection Committee to show his desire to play in the series.
He has made himself available for Kerala's next Ranji Match against Karnataka, which is set to commence at KSCA Cricket Ground in Alur. The match begins on October 18. Kerala Team is part of Elite Group C in the series and has played 1 match.
They beat Punjab by 8 wickets in their opening game at home to grab 6 points. Currently, they take the 2nd spot in the Group Table following Harayana.

Samson reveals his secret dream
Sanju Samson has already revealed his dream to play Test cricket for India. During a recent conversation with SportsStar, the Kerala batter said he looks forward to Ranji Trophy 2024-25 and wishes to play for India in Tests once.
"My desire is to play Test cricket. Before the Duleep Trophy, the leadership group had told me that they were considering me for red-ball cricket and asked me to take it seriously and play more Ranji Trophy matches", he was quoted as saying by Sportstar.
Hence, Indian cricket fans might want Sanju Samson in the Test jersey soon if all goes well for him in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25. Notably, many youngsters like Sarfaraz Khan, Mukesh Kumar, Rajat Patidar, and Dhruv Jurel among others have made their debut in Tests based on the awesome show in the Ranji Trophy.

Also, with Samson's T20I ton against Bangladesh, the selectors should admit that they were wrong to overlook him for the past decade. Samson made his international debut long back in 2015 but could not give a consistent show at the start.
As a result, he could only play a handful of games and vanished from the national side. However, after getting continuous chances for the last 3-4 years, he has made a mark in all three formats.
Although Rishabh Pant is the first-choice member for Team India in all formats, Samson always gets a call when the former is unavailable.
