Although Kohli will not lead India in the ICC ODI World Cup this time, he will play a crucial role at one-down position. Recently, Kohli shattered a century against Pakistan in Asia Cup 2023 to win the player of the match award. Since the start of 2023, Kohli has showcased brilliant form in ODIs.
ICC World Cup 2023 commences on October 5 in India. India will play their opening game against Australia on October 4. India, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan, England, and Netherlands are 10 teams in the tournament.

India bundled out Sri Lanka for 50 in the match with a lethal pace attack by Mohammed Siraj (6/21), Hardik Pandya (3/3) and Jasprit Bumrah (23/3). Later, the men-in-blue won comfortably by 10 wickets.
