IND vs BAN: Dhruv Jurel ignores Rohit Sharma as he reveals his favorite batsman

Young India wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel has picked Virat Kohli as his favorite batsman ahead of Rohit Sharma. Jurel recently expressed his desire to share the batting crease with Kohli during a match.

It is well known that Virat Kohli is one of the best batters in the world. Kohli has numerous records to his name and is likely to register even more in the upcoming years. Even at 35, he is one of the fittest cricketers in the world and can even beat some of the youngsters in the team with his agility and endurance.

As a result, the youngsters in the team also look up to Kohli when they enter international cricket. Almost every player tries to follow in his footsteps in order to achieve a similar level of success.

Dhruv Jurel picks Virat Kohli as his favorite

While speaking to Jatin Sapru on his YouTube channel, Jurel revealed that Virat Kohli is his favorite batter in the world. He also mentioned that he would love batting with him.

"Virat Kohli is my favorite Batsman in the World. And I would love to bat with Virat Kohli, He's my favorite batting partner," Jurel said.

It is a dream for any youngster to share the batting crease with Virat Kohli. Kohli's passion for the game and hunger to perform remains at the topmost level even after more than 15 years since he started playing international cricket.

Dhruv Jurel's international debut

Jurel is yet to play an international match with Virat Kohli. He made his international debut in the Test series against England earlier this year but Kohli was on break in that series due to personal reasons. Rohit Sharma was India's captain in that series

Jurel had a fantastic debut series in which he scored 190 runs in 3 Tests at an average of 63.33. In just his second Test match, Dhruv Jurel scored a brilliant 90 and 39* across both the innings to take India to a thrilling win.

Apart from playing three Tests, Dhruv Jurel has also played two T20Is against Zimbabwe. The youngster has been selected in the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh. However, with Rishabh Pant already in the squad, Jurel is likely to sit out of the first Test. Since Virat Kohli is also in the squad for this series, Jurel will share the dressing room with the India legend.

Dhruv Jurel plays for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and also shares the dressing room with Yashasvi Jaiswal. The 23-year-old has produced some eye-catching performances for his team during the IPL and has earned plaudits for his batting performances down the order.
