Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan has gone through a rollercoaster ride during the last one year, wherein he lost BCCI and the national selectors’ trust, leading to his ouster from the Indian cricket team and central contracts for the 2024-25 season.

Last year, Ishan Kishan enjoyed great success, slamming the door shut on Shikhar Dhawan's return, and he eventually retired from the game and left Sanju Samson trailing far behind in the race for India in the white-ball cricket. He even was a big contender for Shubman Gill's spot in the opening.

Ishan Kishan's meteoric rise swiftly turned into his devastating free fall, as he was suddenly benched. He left India's tour of South Africa midway last year, requesting a break, which raised many eyebrows, but his refusal to play domestic cricket led to the big drama. It led the talented cricketer to lose faith in the BCCI, and they terminated his central contract in February 2024.

Since then, he played just two matches outside the IPL 2024—one in the Buchi Babu tournament and one in the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024. Well, if anyone thought Ishan was finished, so they were sorely mistaken. Ishan Kishan recently let the world know with a classy hundred to help India C draw the Duleep Trophy 2024 game against India B.

The stylish left-handed batter smashed a brilliant knock of 111 runs off 126 balls, studded with 14 boundaries and three towering sixes to announce his arrival on the scene. With his stunning performance against India B, the talented wicketkeeper-batter sent a message that he is determined to reclaim his place in the Indian cricket team.

But what Ishan Kishan showed on the field was only half the message, as he sent a loud and clear message to the BCCI and the Indian selectors that Kishan isn't done yet and ready to get back what belongs to him. Kishan posted a brazen and defiant picture of himself on Instagram, showing him mid-action, and wrote in the caption, "Unfinished business."

Here's Ishan Kishan's strong message to BCCI:

Now, his post is going crazily viral on social media. The explosive batter, who was once reckoned to be India's future behind the stumps, is well set to fight his way back into the reckoning after he was overlooked for the upcoming first Test of the two-match Test series against Bangladesh, starting on September 19 in Chennai.

Ishan hasn't said a word about being dropped from the Indian team, but his bat is giving an answer to his critics. His hundred, though, is just a beginning, but the Jharkhand star knows that one knock does not get the job done to make a sway in the selectors' minds.

Now, Ishan will need to string together more such performances to regain the trust of the BCCI and to earn his spot back in the Indian team. The road ahead is difficult and very long, but Kishan's hunger to prove a point and reclaim his lost glory poised him for a sensational comeback.
