Bangladesh National Cricket Team skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto issued a warning to the India National Cricket Team ahead of the two-match Test series between the teams. The left-hander boldly remarked that they would be aiming to win both games of the series.

India National Cricket Team are all set to host the Bangladesh National Cricket Team in the two-match Test series. The two-match series between the teams will get underway on 19th September in Chennai, and after that, the second game between the teams will be played from 27th September in Kanpur.

Najmul Hossain's team will be arriving in India on Sunday (15th September), and they will have a few days to get used to the conditions. The Bangladesh team will be entering the series on the back of a good training camp back home and will be high on confidence, especially with the result they had in the last series.

Under the leadership of Najmul Hossain Shanto, the Bangladesh National Cricket Team whitewashed Pakistan in their backyard. They defeated the Shan Masood-led side by the margin of 2-0 and would want to have the same result under their belt in this series as well.

Skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto aims to win both the games against India as well. But he understands that process matters for them and they will be doing their work properly. Speaking to The Daily Star at the airport, he explained:

"We will play to win both matches. The things that matter to win, the process matters… we will aim to do the work properly. Good results are possible if we do our job properly."

We will aim to play well for five days - Najmul Hossain Shanto

The Test series between India and Bangladesh will be part of the ICC World Test Championship as well. While the Rohit Sharma-led side are placed at the top of the points table, the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side are 4th on the table.

For Najmul Hossain Shanto, India being at the top doesn't bother him much as he admits that they have been playing good cricket of late, and their main aim against India will be to do well on all five days of the Test. He believes that if they do so, they will stand a great chance to win. He added:

"If you see the ranking, they are much ahead of us. We have been playing well lately. We have had a good series. We will aim to play well for five days. The result comes in the last session on the last day. If we play good cricket for five days, there is a chance which team will be a chance for either team to win in the last session."

The last time India and Bangladesh clashed with each other in the Test series was in December 2022. It was a hard-fought series for both teams, but it was the Rohit Sharma-led side, who managed to win the series by the margin of 2-0.
