Former India cricketer Sourav Ganguly talked about the importance of Rishabh Pant in the team for the T20 World Cup 2024. He said that the keeper-batter is a special talent and will be making a huge difference in the tournament.

Rishabh Pant will be making his return to the Indian Cricket Team after 16 long months. The keeper-batter faced a tragic accident and missed a lot of games for the team, especially the ICC World Cup 2023 and the ICC World Test Championship Final as well.

“He is a very special talent. His keeping is good, but his batting really special. He is capable of picking some great angles in the ground, and that’s his USP. Not every player will be able to do that, you see. And that’s what makes Pant very important for India.”

Sourav Ganguly further added that Rishabh Pant worked hard to make the comeback and is eager to do well for the team. The former BCCI president added that he is confident that keeper-batter will make a huge difference in the World Cup. He added:

“He has worked very very hard to make this comeback, and is hungry to do well. I am confident he will make a telling difference”.

Rishabh Pant looked in terrific touch with the bat in the Indian Premier League. He led the Delhi Capitals once again, scoring 446 runs at a strike rate of 155.4 and an average of 40.55. He was the leading run-getter for his team and also was sensational with the gloves.
