Samson did not make it into the playing XI, as KS Bharat was preferred. He returned to the playing XI for the second round.
Samson will aim to improve his performance in the second innings. The wicketkeeper position was open in the Indian team after Rishabh Pant's prolonged absence following a car accident.
The Indian team management handed Test debuts to KS Bharat, Ishan Kishan, and Dhruv Jurel during this time.
It Is Not A All Challenging - Shreyas Iyer
India D captain Shreyas Iyer said that leading the team is not challenging since he has played with most of the players. Iyer added that they aim to perform and focus on dominating the game without overthinking the outcome.
"It is not at all challenging because I've played with the majority of the players in the team, know the strengths and weaknesses of most. It's about them getting an opportunity and performing. Just to dominate as much as possible, not thinking about what's going to happen, want to be confident in our approach," Iyer said.
At the time of writing this article, India D is at 111-5 in 36 overs. Devdutt Padikkal and Saransh Jain are batting in the middle for India D. Devdutt Padikkal scored an unbeaten 60 runs off 90 deliveries, while other batters failed to cross the 25-run mark.
