The 26-year-old India National Cricket Team middle-order batsman Sarfaraz Khan recently recalled the memorable night at the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) when he made the modern-day great Virat Kohli bow down to him.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru had locked horns with the Rajasthan Royals in the 29th match of the Indian Premier League 2015 on April 29 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.

Kohli got out for 1 in that match, but Sarfaraz Khan played a stunning innings and smashed 45 runs off 21 balls, with 6 fours and 1 six. Sarfaraz was at his unorthodox best during his knock and seemed to have impressed his then-captain Virat Kohli with his batting masterclass.

As Sarfaraz left the ground after his heroics against Rajasthan Royals, Virat Kohli looked delighted and he bowed to him in appreciation.

Speaking about the memorable moment, Sarfaraz Khan stated that he enjoyed that night a lot and expressed his desire to share the Indian dressing room with Kohli.

"I met him at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium for the first time. I had scored 45 runs in 21 balls here and he bowed at me. I had a lot of fun that day. It was a dream to share an Indian team dressing room with him it will come true in the future if I get the opportunity," he added.

Notably, Sarfaraz Khan's dream of sharing the Indian dressing room with Virat Kohli could have come true earlier in the year during the series against England, but Kohli pulled out of the entire series due to the birth of his second child. However, they will share the dressing room soon during the Bangladesh Test series.

Notably, in the five-match Test series against England, Sarfaraz Khan got the opportunity to make his Test debut. He batted with an aggressive intent and smashed three half-centuries for the side. Overall, he has played 3 Tests in his career and has scored 200 runs at an average of 50.

Virat Kohli's passion and spirit are unmatched - Sarfaraz Khan

Sarfaraz further said that Kohli is a highly passionate player and his spirit is unmatched.

"His (Virat Kohli's) passion and spirit are unmatched. Whenever I saw him, even in the pre-match meetings, he'd take charge and tell everyone how many runs he'd score off a particular bowler and break that down for everyone. To be gutsy enough to stand up and talk with such positivity in front of everyone and then deliver the next day is a very unique ability," Sarfaraz told Jio Cinema.

The young batter added that Virat Kohli is very clear about his game, and he doesn't care about the criticism or praises coming towards him.

"He is clear about his game. He knows the work a player needs to keep doing and that criticism or praise shouldn't affect your game. 'This is my work, I have to do this in the morning, this in the afternoon, this in the evening, and sleep at a specific time.' That's what I have learned from him," he concluded.
