India National Cricket Team batter Virat Kohli has yet again won the hearts of many ahead of the first Test against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team. The two-match Test series between the teams gets underway at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on 19th September.
Virat Kohli, ahead of the first Test against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team, has been putting in the hard yards to get in the groove for the series. The senior batter joined the team on Friday (12th September) and since then has been toiling hard in the nets.
Kohli has been undergoing intense training sessions, and it could well be an indication that the batter might bring his best with the bat in the series. The right-hander would want to make a massive impact in the series, especially with him having a lean phase of late in the longest format of the game.
Kohli, who last played Test against South Africa, missed the five-match Test series against England National Cricket Team at home. He was in London with his family as his wife gave birth to their second child and hence missed all five games for his team.
The upcoming Test series will be a golden opportunity for him to regain his form and get back to his best in the longest format of the game. His form will be extremely important for the team going ahead as India are next slated to travel to Australia for five tests later this year.
The two Test matches against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team will also be part of the ICC World Test Championship. Therefore, Kohli becomes extremely important for his team in the two-match Test series. Currently, India are at the top of the table.
Kohli will be key for India in the middle order. With the team expected to have a young batting lineup, his experience will be important not only for the team but also for the young players as well. The batter is likely to take the No.4 spot in the XI.
