IND vs BAN: Watch - Suryakumar Yadav Yet Again Fails To Make Mark In ODIs; Gets Castled By Shakib Al Hasan

Suryakumar Yadav yet again failed to make a mark in the ODIs as he perished for another low total in the ongoing Super Four encounter of Asia Cup 2023 between India and Bangladesh. The game at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo hangs in balance. 

Suryakumar Yadav came to bat when India lost Ishan Kishan (5) at 94. It was expected that he would set the stage on fire and guide the team to win. But it didn’t happen as he was outclassed by the brilliance of Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan, who castled him. 

Shakib Al Hasan bowled a tossed-up delivery that was full on the off stump. Suryakumar Yadav tried to sweep it and he missed in the process. The ball went in a flash and hit the off stump. Here’s the video of his dismissal:

Suryakumar Yadav looked good in his innings and it was a great opportunity for him to show the world that he can set the stage on fire in the ODIs as well. But unfortunately, he looked premeditated in his innings. 

Suryakumar Yadav scored 26 runs off 34 balls against Bangladesh. He hit three boundaries in his innings. But the wrong shot selection cost him again as he was back in the hut for a low total. 

IND vs BAN: Suryakumar Yadav’s poor record in ODIs 

Suryakumar has been incredible in the T20Is but somehow he hasn’t managed to replicate that in ODIs. The batter hasn’t been able to get going in the 50-over format as he has been failing consistently and many even lashed out at Indian team management for his selection in ICC World Cup 2023. 

Suryakumar Yadav has so far played 27 games in the ODIs. In those games, he has managed just 537 runs at an average of just 24.11.  The batter has smashed 2 half-centuries with the highest score of 64.
