The Rohit Sharma-led team hammered Pakistan, recording their eighth consecutive victory against the opposition in the 50-over World Cup. The Men in Blue secured a convincing seven-wicket victory over the Babar Azam-led team in the ICC Men’s World Cup 2023.
Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, October 14. The Indian bowlers bundled out Pakistan for a below-par total of 191 runs. They chased down the target with 19 overs to spare.

During the India-Pakistan World Cup match, a physical altercation happened between a male spectator and a female police officer in the stands. However, the exact cause of the altercation between them remains uncertain, but it escalated into a physical confrontation.
A spectator used offensive language that provoked a female police inspector in the stands. The video captured the police officer hitting the man after he asked her to leave, and he responded by striking her back. Other spectators intervened to try and calm the situation.

India Move To Top Place In Points Table
The Indian team secured their third consecutive victory at the iconic venue in the ongoing marquee tournament. This victory propelled them to the top position in the points table, boasting a better Net Run Rate (NRR) than New Zealand, who occupy second place.
The Indian skipper led the run chase with a brilliant knock, scoring 83 runs off 63 deliveries with the help of six fours and as many sixes. He was dismissed by Shaheen Afridi when the team almost secured the victory. Shreyas Iyer smashed the winning runs to finish the game.
The Men in Blue will take on the Shakib Al Hasan-led team Bangladesh in their next match at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Thursday, October 19.
