Indian Captain Virat Kohli will be on the cusp of breaking former captain MS Dhoni’s elite captaincy record during the upcoming 4-match Test series against England. India is coming off a great series win in Australia under Ajinkya Rahane and they will now shift their focus to the first home series after the long pandemic break against England. This will also be the first series after 3- years between these two teams.

Virat Kohli who returned from Australia after the first Test due to paternal leave will be making a comeback for the series. The last series in India in 2016 captained by Virat Kohli ended as a 4-0 series win in the favour of the home side India.

Kohli has a total of 20 wins at home, while Mohammad Azharuddin(13 wins) and Sourav Ganguly(10 wins )  complete the chart. If India manages to win two of the four Tests, then Kohli will top the chart with 22 wins.

The match-winner has focussed on building his fast bowling unit which can win the matches on overseas tours and it was visible during the recently concluded Border Gavaskar Series.
