However, India has been completely dominating at home and England has a tough challenge ahead of them.

He has played 25 Test matches against India and has scored 2526 runs in 45 innings at a stunning average of 63.15. Joe Root impressively has ten half-centuries and nine centuries against India which includes a double hundred in Chennai where he scored 218 on a complete spin-friendly track.

2. Jonny Bairstow:

Jonny Bairstow is one of the most aggressive batters in Test cricket and the reason why England escaped a series loss against India last time. He scored two blistering hundreds in both innings to take the game away from India and win the Test to level the series 2-2. Jonny Bairstow has played 18 Test matches against England and has amassed 1023 runs at an average of 34.10. Ben Stokes has played 16 Test matches against India and in 30 innings he has accumulated 773 runs at an average of 26.66. He has smashed four half-centuries and a century against India. His century came back in 2016 when he scored 128 in Rajkot.

5. Moeen Ali:

The off-spinning all-rounder comes fifth among current English cricketers with the most runs against India in Test cricket. He has played 16 Test matches against India and has accumulated 756 runs in 26 innings at an average of 29.08. Moeen Ali has smashed two half-centuries and two centuries against India with both his centuries coming during the 2016 series.
