While Virat Kohli holds numerous records with the bat, very few know that the India batting superstar also holds a very unique bowling record.
One of the best if not the best batsman of his generation, Virat Kohli rarely bowls in international cricket. At the beginning of his career, he did bowl occasionally but hardly bowls nowadays. He recently bowled three deliveries against Bangladesh in the World Cup clash after Hardik Pandya had to walk off the field due to injury. It was the first time in eight years that he was bowling in an ODI match. He last did it way back in 2017.
Talking about the record, Virat Kohli is the only bowler to take a wicket on his 0th delivery in T20Is. He achieved the feat during a one-off T20I against England way back in 2011. When Virat Kohli was handed the ball by MS Dhoni, he started with a wide. And it was enough for him to pick up a wicket as Dhoni smartly pulled off a stumping.
And the batter was none other than England great Kevin Pietersen. The former England captain recently witnessed the clip of his dismissal on X (formerly Twitter) and decided to respond to it. Calling the wide delivery unplayable, he wrote: ???He was a better bowler than batter then. Unplayable delivery! ????
He was a better bowler than batter then. Unplayable delivery! ?
Virat Kohli going strong in World Cup:

But he bounced back in the very next game with an unbeaten century against Bangladesh. It was his first century in the World Cup since 2015. Against New Zealand, he scored 95. With 354 runs from 5 innings, he is presently India???s highest run-scorer in the World Cup.
