IND vs ENG match preview- 1st Test, 2024

India and England will take on each other in a Test series at home. The IND vs ENG Test series will observe five matches starting January 25, Thursday. The IND vs ENG series will conclude with the final encounter in the second week of March.

India

Rohit Sharma is the captain of India in the IND vs ENG Test series. Virat Kohli is not part of the first two matches. Among batters, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Rohit Sharma, and KL Rahul are crucial players.

In the bowling department, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravichandran Ashwin have a lot of responsibilities. All-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel will also play a key role for the team during the entire series.

Ben Stokes is the captain of England in the IND vs ENG Test series. He will lead the team in the 1st Test. Batsmen like Zak Crawley, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, and Ben Stokes are important members of the batting department. They are hampered by Harry Brook’s ouster from the first two games.

Among bowlers, James Anderson, Mark Wood, and Ollie Robinson will have to replicate their pace attack like they have on their home soil. Rehan Ahmed and Jack Leach are the only experienced spinners for the England team. Hence, they have a lot of responsibilities in the series.
