Indian captain Rohit Sharma achieved a huge milestone in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 clash against England. He became only the fifth batter from his country to score 18,000 runs in international cricket, joining the likes of great Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, and others.
Rohit achieved the feat at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. The Indian captain is batting like a dream in the game against England. India were asked to bat first and they were left tottering at 40/3. The senior opener held the fort and bailed his team out of trouble.
Rohit Sharma smashed a vital half-century and is looking strong for a big ton. The Indian batter during his innings became the fifth batter to cross 18,000 runs. Ahead of the game, he was 47 runs short of reaching the milestone.
Rohit also became the sixth Indian ODI captain to score over 1000 runs in a year. He joined the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, M Azharuddin, Sourav Ganguly, MS Dhoni, and Virat Kohli. As a player, he achieved the feat for the fifth time in his career.
