Day 4 of the Test between India and England provided everything that every cricket lover asked for. The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad saw as many as 14 wickets falling on the day and both the teams had their moments in every session but it was the visitors who came at the top.
The start of the day went in India’s favor as Ravichandran Ashwin removed Rehan Ahmed (28) early. But after that England made sure that frustrated the the Indian bowlers. Ollie Pope and Tom Hartley (34) batted incredibly well putting the hosts under pressure and took the lead past 200 runs with their 80-run partnership.
After Ravichandran Ashwin removed Hartley, Ollie Pope played some shots but fell short of the partners. He lost his wicket while attempting to play a scoop shot. He ended with an innings of 196 runs and put England in a solid position in the game on Day 4.
England ended their innings on 420 runs and set India a target of 231 runs to chase. For hosts, Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers as he bagged a four-wicket haul whereas Ravichandran Ashwin picked three scalps. Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel were also in the wickets column.

IND vs ENG Scorecard, 1st Test, Day 3 Highlights: England bundle out India for 202 runs in the second innings
In the chase of 231 runs, India was off to a cautious start. Skipper Rohit Sharma (39) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (14) added 42 runs for the opening partnership. It seemed that India was in full control however, debutant Tom Hartley brought England back into the game with his sensational bowling along with support from fielders.
Hartley removed Jaiswal and Shubman Gill (0) on two consecutive balls before removing Rohit Sharma to reduce India to 63/3. Axar Patel (17) was promoted up the order. He played a decent hand and along with KL Rahul (22) added 32 runs for the 4th wicket.
But both Axar and Rahul lost their wickets after the Tea and India came under immense pressure. Things got even more worse for the hosts after Ravindra Jadeja (2) got run out, thanks to the brilliance of Ben Stokes. Shreyas Iyer tried to get going but he too perished after a start.
The batter managed 13 runs before getting out to Jack Leach. Ravichandran Ashwin and KS Bharat then took the onus on themselves and joined hands to bail the team out of trouble. The duo put in the hard yards and grinded hard, making sure that the hosts didn’t lose any more wickets for some time.
A valuable partnership in the works 👏👏#TeamIndia need 71 more runs to win 👌👌

Ravichandran Ashwin and KS Bharat first settled in and defended the ball pretty well. However, once they got their eyes in, they played freely and hit some boundaries as well. Their partnership frustrated England bowlers as they had no clue about the rock-solid partnership by the Indian duo.
Ravichandran Ashwin and KS Bharat added 57 plus runs for the 8th wicket and it seemed that they would take India home. But Tom Hartley picked 7 wickets and helped his team bundle out the opposition for 202 runs and win the game by 28 runs.
Brief scores
England 2nd innings: 420/10 (Ollie Pope 196; Jasprit Bumrah 4/41)
India 2nd innings: 202/10 (Rohit Sharma 39; Tom Hartley 7/62)
