Watch- Jasprit Bumrah intentionally pushes Ollie Pope, Rohit Sharma apologizes to the English batsman
The ongoing Test match between India and England saw Ollie Pope reach the 150-run mark at the start of Day 4 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. Ollie Pope is going strong against India after being dismissed for just 1 in the first innings. During the 81st over of the innings, Jasprit Bumrah intentionally pushed Ollie Pope while the batter was running a single.
Jasprit Bumrah showed his frustration as he pushed Ollie Pope while he was trying to run a single. England’s vice-captain has given a headache to the Indian bowlers with his spectacular innings and is still unbeaten. England started the fourth day with 316/6 on the board and Ollie Pope on 148* and as of now they have lost Rehan Ahmed who was caught behind off Jasprit Bumrah’s delivery.
Ollie Pope has crossed the 150-run milestone and if he manages to score a double hundred then he will become the second English cricketer to score a double hundred in India. Joe Root became the first English player to score a double hundred in Tests in India during the 2021 series opener at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. However, Jasprit Bumrah has taken three wickets as of now and Ollie Pope is on the target of the Indian speedster.
After Jasprit Bumrah pushed Ollie Pope while the latter was running a single, the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma came to Pope and apologised for the bowler’s behaviour. Cricket is a gentlemen’s game and one should respect the opposition’s game. Ollie Pope has been phenomenal with the bat in the match and has given England a chance to fight in what could have been a one-sided encounter.

Jasprit Bumrah has taken five wickets in total in this Test match and is the only fast bowler who has taken wickets in this match. Mohammed Siraj and Mark Wood are the other fast bowlers who are playing this game but both went wicketless as of now. Jasprit Bumrah took Rehan Ahmed and skipper Ben Stokes in the first innings whereas he scalped Ben Duckett, Joe Root and Rehan Ahmed again in the second innings.
Meanwhile, Ollie Pope is cruising towards his second double century of his Test career. The 26-year-old batter has outclassed everyone with his resilient batting while following the Bazball approach. He has played aggressive cricket but has kept in mind to save his wicket and is still unbeaten with England leading by more than 175 runs. England will be hoping to take a 250-run lead as chasing 250 in the fourth innings on spin-friendly Indian conditions is a very difficult task.
India has not lost a home Test series since the defeat against England in 2012 when Sir Alastair Cook led the side to a 2-1 victory. The hosts will be hoping to continue their unbeaten run in the home Test series and England will look to repeat the results of 2012 and break the streak again for India.
