Young Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh is on the brink of achieving a significant milestone during the first T20I match against Ireland at The Village in Dublin on Friday, August 18. Arshdeep Singh could surpass Jasprit Bumrah’s record in the shorter format of the game.

Arshdeep Singh impressed with his bowling abilities in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and earned a call-up from the national team. The left-arm pacer made his T20I debut against India in July last year. He was part of the Indian team during the T20 World Cup 2022.

Arshdeep Singh On The Verge Of Achieving Massive Milestone

The 24-year-old has secured 48 wickets in 31 T20I matches and has an opportunity to become the fastest Indian pacer to reach 50 international wickets in the shorter format. Currently, the record is held by Jasprit Bumrah, who achieved the 50-wicket milestone in 41 T20I matches.

Overall, Kuldeep Yadav leads the chart for the fastest 50 wickets for India in T20Is. He achieved this milestone in 29 innings during the recently concluded West Indies tour. Yuzvendra Chahal is in second place with 34 innings, followed by Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin (42).

Arshdeep Singh was the spearhead of the Indian bowling attack in the five-match T20I series against the West Indies. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj were rested in the series. He emerged as the leading wicket-taker for his team in the series.

India’s Squad For Ireland Tour

The selectors picked the second-string squad for the three-match series. Rinku Singh received his maiden call-up from the selectors, while some other cricketers were recalled to the team following impressive performances in the IPL 2023.
