Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna is set to make his comeback to the national team after a long time. After recovering from a hamstring injury, the right-arm pacer is set to play for India in a forthcoming T20I series against Ireland. Ahead of his comeback, Prasidh Krishna opened up about his recovery process.
Prasidh Krishna faced a hamstring injury in March this year. Due to the injury, he was ruled out from the Rajasthan Royals team in IPL 2023. The 29-year-old player underwent surgery for his injury. Later, he spent time at National Cricket Academy for the recovery process.
I Was Restless Before Surgery: Prasidh Krishna
Speaking to ESPN Cricinfo about his recovery process, Prasidh Krishna said he was a little restless in the initial phase of surgery. However, he later realized he needs a lot of intensity to be able to play at the highest level.
“I was a little restless, of course, in the initial phase before the surgery, as to why it was taking so long, especially since I’d started bowling. There were days when I felt great and like ‘Oh, I’m ready to play’, but then after two more sessions I’d realise I need a lot more of these and at the same intensity for the body to condition itself. If I have to look to play at the highest level, the intensity is going to be high”, the former KKR pacer said.
