India Under-19 captain Yash Dhull feels that Jasprit Bumrah’s comeback was really important for Team India. Jasprit Bumrah made a comeback to the team in the ongoing IND vs IRE T20I series.
The right-arm pacer was out of the field since September 2022 due to a back injury. Bumrah, a crucial pacer for India across all formats, underwent back surgery earlier this year. Later, he underwent the recovery process before making a comeback in IND vs IRE T20I series.
It Was Really Important For India That Jasprit Bumrah Makes A Comeback- Yash Dhull
Indian player Yash Dhull recently attended the ICC World Cup 2023 mascot reveal event in Delhi. During the event, the Delhi player was asked about his reaction to Jasprit Bumrah’s return to the Indian team. To this, Dhull replied that Bumrah’s comeback was really important for India.
“No doubts, it was really important for the team that he (Bumrah) makes a comeback,” Yash Dhull said.
Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul are two crucial batters who aim to return to the national team. Both underwent surgeries earlier this year and have recovered at NCA. However, they are yet to make their comeback in the Indian team. Talking about the same, Yash Dhull said that Tilak Varma can be a good option if they are not available.
“Look, that totally depends upon the team management. Maybe Shreyas Iyer or if there is some concern, then maybe Tilak Varma is also a good option,” Yash Dhull said.
Like Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul, Tilak Varma is a middle-order batsman. The left-handed batter gave a stupendous performance in the recent IND vs WI T20I series. Making his debut in the series, Varma shattered 173 runs in 5 T20I games to finish as the leading run-getter for the team. Moreover, the MI batsman also played match-winning knocks in a few games.
India has two crucial multi-national campaigns ahead- Asia Cup 2023 and ICC World Cup 2023. India needs a powerful squad in both ODI tournaments. Hence, the return of Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul will be a crucial factor for the team. Jasprit Bumrah’s return has arrived as a big relief to Team India.
