Fans on X (formerly Twitter) showered rich praise on the 25-year-old batter Rinku Singh for his terrific batting performance in his debut T20I innings for India National Cricket Team against Ireland National Cricket Team in the second T20I at the Malahide, Dublin on Sunday, August 20.

Rinku Singh got his India call-up after his sensational performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and domestic cricket. He became the talk of the town after his sensational performances for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. In the season where the Knight Riders struggled to get going, Rinku Singh emerged as the biggest positive for his side.

Rinku Singh single-handedly won the game against Gujarat Titans (GT) after smashing the GT pacer Yash Dayal for 5 consecutive sixes in the final over to complete a historic run-chase. Overall, the young batter smashed 474 runs at an amazing average of 59.25 and a strike rate of 149.53 in IPL 2023.

Meanwhile, he made his India debut in the first T20I against Ireland at the Malahide in Dublin on Friday, August 18. However, he didn’t get the opportunity to bat as the rain interrupted the match and India won by 2 runs as per the DLS method as the target was reduced.

Rinku Singh got the opportunity to play his first innings for India at the international level in the second T20I match. He took some time to settle and was batting at 15 off 15 deliveries.

Once he got set, Rinku Singh smashed the Ireland bowlers all over the park and showcased sheer dominance. He scored 38 runs off 21 balls, before getting out. Rinku Singh’s stellar cameo consisted of 2 fours and 3 sixes.

Rinku Singh also added outstanding 55 runs in just 28 balls with Shivam Dube to provide India with a fantastic finish. India posted a great total of 185/5 after good batting performances from Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson, Rinku Singh, and Shivam Dube.
