With just a few days remaining before India's opening match in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, legendary Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has shared his predictions for the tournament.

Speaking at the launch of the Fan Park in New York, Yuvraj named two players he believes will be crucial for Team India’s T20 World Cup 2024 campaign, and they are Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant.

Yuvraj, the two-time World Cup winner, confidently picked Kohli as the leading run-scorer of the T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and Caribbean, citing his exceptional performance in the recent IPL 2024.

Kohli has consistently been a key player for India in the ICC tournaments, and he is expected to continue the trend this time as well and carry his stellar IPL 2024 form into the T20 World Cup 2024.

Notably, Kohli won the Orange Cap in the IPL 2024 for being the leading run scorer in the tournament, with a phenomenal 741 runs to his name for the RCB. He is also the leading run-scorer in the history of the T20 World Cup, with 1141 runs across 27 matches to his name to date since 2012.

In addition, the former Indian all-rounder expressed his excitement to watch the talented wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant in action for the Men in Blue in the T20 World Cup 2024. Notably, Pant returned to action in the IPL 2024 after more than 15 months following recovering from major injuries that he sustained during his car crash in December 2022.

The left-handed batter is expected to be a potential game-changer for the Indian cricket team in the mega ICC event, and he already showed a glimpse of what he can do with his fiery fifty in the warm-up game against Bangladesh in New York.

He also had a great IPL 2024, scoring 446 runs at an impressive average of 50 and a strike rate of 155 in 13 games for the Delhi Capitals (DC). Ahead of the IND vs IRE T20 World Cup 2024 clash in New York on June 5, Yuvraj said that he is looking forward to Pant's comeback as he is coming back from a massive injury.

The former all-rounder feels Pant could provide a much-needed boost to the Men in Blue in the middle order. Yuvraj Sigh, an ICC ambassador for T20 World Cup 2024, said at the launch of a Fan Park in New York as reported by PTI, “I am looking forward to the return of Rishabh, he is coming back from a massive injury. And leading run-getter seems like Virat Kohli, he’s had a very good IPL.”

He was also optimistic about India’s chances to win the T20 World Cup 2024. Yuvraj added, “I just feel that we played the World Cup 2007 final and we've been the qualifying semis and I think it's just a matter of time...I believe we have the self-belief of winning big tournaments. I think if India believes and backs themselves and play to their own strengths, I'm sure they'll go all the way. And that's what I believe in.”
