Pant’s explosive batting and sharp wicketkeeping will be instrumental as the Men in Blue are set to embark on their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign against Ireland on Wednesday, June 5, in New York. Well, Pant has been backed by many to feature in India’s XI for the first match against Ireland.

Parthiv Patel, former Indian wicketkeeper-batter, also backed the talented cricketer to play against Ireland and admitted that he will be pumped up to represent India again. He also lauded Pant for his inspiration to come back from the life-threating and career-threating situation.

Hailing Pant's remarkable journey of resilience and determination after a life-threatening setback, the cricket commentator lauded the Indian keeper’s unwavering spirit in bouncing back from a phase where it seemed his cricketing career might be jeopardized.

Parthiv Patel said on Cricbuzz: “Yes, absolutely. I think the way Rishabh Pant has gone through the phase, there are a lot of things in it. The thing that you love the most—the thing that you see in danger—is that it may seem that you will never be able to play cricket. The way he has come back from that situation, I think there can’t be a better example than him.

I think he has been a very strong example for a lot of people for ages. And for all the wicket keepers, when your both knees have almost gone and you have done surgeries in that, and after that, to make come back like this, I think the more you praise, you lessen his inspirational journey.”

Patel also hailed Pant’s flawless wicketkeeping during the IPL 2024, saying his impressive batting performance coupled with his exceptional wicketkeeping silenced any doubts regarding his ability to excel as a wicketkeeper-batter after his accident.

He also mentioned that Pant’s attacking batting overshadowed his keeping in the IPL 2024. Notably, Pant smashed a fiery fifty for India in the warm-up game against Bangladesh in New York after scoring more than 400 runs in the IPL 2024 for DC.
