IND vs IRE: Watch - Hardik Pandya bamboozles Lorcan Tucker with a cracking delivery

It did not take Hardik Pandya long to make an impact in the ongoing game between India and Ireland in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

The all-rounder has been under immense pressure in recent times due to his poor form in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He faced severe criticism for his display as a captain as well as an allrounder in the tournament. However, the India vice-captain has looked in fine form ever since he donned the national team's jersey.

He impressed in the warm-up game against Bangladesh with the bat by scoring a crucial 40 not out and has made an instant impact in the ongoing game against Ireland. Captain Rohit Sharma handed the ball to him straight after the end of the powerplay and Hardik Pandya justified his decision by taking a wicket in his very first over.

On the fifth ball of the over, he clean-bowled Lorcan Tucker to put India in the driver's seat. It was a cracking delivery from the India star and the in-form Ireland batter had absolutely no answer for it. It was a fuller length delivery just outside the off stump and Tucker decided to play a drive. However, the ball moved in sharply and passed through the game before crashing into the middle stump. Tucker departed after scoring 10 runs off 13 balls.

Talking about the game, Ireland were reeling at 79 for 9 after 15 overs at the time of writing this report. Rohit's decision to bowl first was completely justified by his bowlers as they did not let Ireland get off the hook at all.

Arshdeep Singh gave India a solid start by dismissing both the Ireland openers - Andrew Balbirnie and Paul Stirling - in the third over and the Men in Blue have been in command of the game since then. No Ireland player has managed to touch even the 15-run mark so far.
