The Indian cricket fraternity is eagerly waiting for Jasprit Bumrah’s comeback. With the Asia Cup and the World Cup not very far away, the Indian team management would also be hoping that their star pacer returns in time after regaining full fitness.

The right-arm pacer has not played a competitive game since September last year due to injury setbacks. Jasprit Bumrah was first sidelined due to a stress reaction in his lower back. He was later named in the ODI squad for the home series against Sri Lanka in January this year. However, he pulled out of the series at the last moment after experiencing pain in his back again.

Jasprit Bumrah resumes bowling:

In March this year, Jasprit Bumrah underwent surgery on his back in New Zealand and has been at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) since then for his rehabilitation. And it looks like the India pace spearhead is all set to return to international cricket now. He recently resumed bowling in the nets and bowled to Mumbai batsmen during a practice match.

As per media reports, Jasprit Bumrah has bowled in a practice match for the first time since arriving at the NCA. He bowled 10 overs, divided into two spells, to some of Mumbai’s batsmen in an intra-squad practice match on Friday (July 28).

A video of his bowling is doing the rounds on social media where he could be seen in good rhythm. According to a report in the Times of India, Jasprit Bumrah’s figures from the match read: 10-2-34-1.

Meanwhile, the pacer could be a part of India’s squad for the three-match T20I series against Ireland next month. With the bowler returning to action from a long-term injury, the BCCI wants to test his match fitness through T20 matches instead of ODIs.
