Fast-bowler Jasprit Bumrah will be leading Team India in the upcoming three-match T20I series against Ireland. The India pace spearhead will be the center of all attention as he will be making his much-awaited return to international cricket through the ongoing series.

Jasprit Bumrah has not played a competitive game for almost a year now. His last appearance for Team India came in September last year during the home T20I series against Australia. A back injury then ruled him out of the remainder of the year that included the all-important T20 World Cup in Australia.

The star pacer tried to make a comeback at the beginning of the ongoing year after being named in the ODI squad for the Sri Lanka series. However, he pulled out from the squad at the last moment after experiencing pain once again. And in March this year, he underwent surgery in New Zealand before having extended rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy.

Jasprit Bumrah in fine rhythm:

While Jasprit Bumrah will be returning to action after almost a year, he has looked in stunning rhythm. On Wednesday (August 16), the BCCI posted a video of the pacer bowling in the nets and he looked as devastating as ever. The right-arm pacer bowled a deadly bouncer to his teammate before bowling a pinpoint yorker.

In another video, the India stand-in captain was seen giving some crucial bowling tips to newcomer Mukesh Kumar. Mukesh made his debut in all three formats for Team India during the tour of the West Indies. The series against Ireland will give him another opportunity to impress. He will also be looking to pick Jasprit Bumrah’s brain during the tour.

Watch:

All eyes will be on Jasprit Bumrah during the forthcoming series. The pacer is likely to be included in the India squad for the Asia Cup as well. Asia Cup 2023 is scheduled to be played from August 30 to September 17. A fit Jasprit Bumrah is expected to lead India’s attack in the Asia Cup as well as the all-important ODI World Cup in October-November.

Meanwhile, the first match of the three-match series between India and Ireland is scheduled to be played on Friday (August 18) in Dublin.
