Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj opened up about reaching the No. 1 spot in the bowling charts in one-day international cricket. Mohammed Siraj mentioned his past stint as the top ODI bowler but downplayed its significance compared to the ICC World Cup 2023.
With the dominant performance of the Indian players in the World Cup, Mohammed Siraj reclaimed the No.1 spot from Australia???s Josh Hazlewood. Although the right-arm pacer didn???t have good outings in the earlier matches, he delivered well in the last two matches.

In a video shared by the ICC on its Instagram handle, Mohammed Siraj expressed that his individual ranking is not a primary goal, emphasizing that his focus remains on delivering strong performances to contribute to India???s success in the tournament.
???To be honest, I was No. 1 for some time and since then I have also been up and down the rankings. So this number doesn???t really matter to me. The goal is to help India win the World Cup. I just hope that my performance helps the team achieve that goal,??? Siraj said.

The 29-year-old bagged 10 wickets in the 8 matches at an average of 31.70 and an economy rate of 5.24. The pacer???s best performance came against Sri Lanka, where he picked up three wickets for just 16 runs to bundle out the opposition for just 55 runs in Mumbai.
