“One of the shots of the century for sure because we have not seen the other shots so it’s difficult to say anything because the shot of the century but definitely one of the greatest shots in the game because whatever format it is, to hit a quick bowler, bowling at 145kmph+ straight back over his head to the straight boundary, it’s an amazing amazing shot.”

Virat Kohli’s Clarity Of Mind Helped Him Executing Those Sixes Against Haris Rauf: Sunil Gavaskar

When asked about how difficult it is to play a shot like that with a straight bat and hit it for a six in a ground like Melbourne, the former Indian skipper decoded the entire scenario according to his experience.

“Well it takes skill, it takes enormous self-confidence and self-belief and it takes an assesment of the situation. You know the clarity of the mind, realizing that these last two balls were very important to make the last over target that much less because remember of the first four deliveries from Haris Rauf only three runs had come.

So if you didn’t score six and six of the next two deliveries, the target would have been 22-25 and that was the important thing. The clarity to try and maximize of both these deliveries was fantastic.”
