Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir posted a strong statement after his video showing his middle finger towards the crowd went viral on the internet. He said that the way he reacted any Indian would’ve done that.

Gautam Gambhir became the center of attraction after a video circulated on the internet. The cricket-turned-commentator was seen walking towards the commentary box while talking on the phone. As he walked past the crowd, they chanted either “Kohli Kohli” or “Dhoni Dhoni” and teased him.

Gautam Gambhir, however, looked irritated with the way the crowd teased him and he reacted by showing them the middle finger. However, after the video went viral, he clarified to the media that the crowd was shouting anti-Indian slogans and therefore he couldn’t tolerate it.

“The crowd was shouting anti-India slogs, as an indian, I can’t take anyone saying this about my country hence reacted this way – what you see on social media isn’t always the correct picture.”

Gautam Gambhir however, received a lot of flake for his gesture. Many lashed out at him for doing such things against Virat Kohli’s name. They also related his actions to the fight that happened between the duo during the IPL 2023.
