IND vs NEP: Watch - Ravindra Jadeja Cleans Up Bhim Sharki To Give India A Crucial Breakthrough

Ravindra Jadeja gave India a timely breakthrough just before the drinks break to bring the Men in Blue back into the game. India are playing a must-win game against Nepal in Pallekele on Monday, September 4.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and asked Nepal to bat first. The Indian fielders dropped three catches inside the first six overs as they did not look upbeat from the start.

Nepal openers cashed in India’s fielding woes adding 65 for the first wicket inside the first 10 overs. Kushan Bhurtel scored 38 off 25 balls as he added 65 with Aasid Sheikh. Shardul Thakur provided the breakthrough as he dismissed Bhurtel to break the partnership.

Ravindra Jadeja then dismissed Bhim Sharki for just 7 off 17 deliveries in the second over that he bowled. He bowled the ball on a good length with the batter inside edging the delivery onto his stumps. He played with an angled bat which made the ball take the inner part of the bat and castled his stumps.

India after being sloppy on the field to start their day in his game have now picked two quick wickets. Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj had catches dropped in their very first overs.

The Indian fielding has been below par in this must-win game. Pakistan have already qualified for the Super 4s after beating Nepal in their first game.

Mohammed Shami is back in the playing XI instead of Jasprit Bumrah who is back home for the birth of his son. Bumrah will be back for India’s Supe4 campaign in the Asia Cup 2023.

India’s campaign opener against Pakistan was washed out with both the teams sharing a point each. India must win the match against Nepal to qualify for the Super 4s. Like against Pakistan, rain is also expected to play spoilsport in the match against Nepal.
