Michael Vaughan has come up with a hilarious comment to praise Rohit Sharma’s captaincy in the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. The India captain has led his team from the very front in the tournament so far.
Team India are currently one of the only two unbeatable side in the tournament at present. India have won all of their opening four games. The other team to win all of its games so far is New Zealand. India began their campaign with a 6-wicket win over Australia before they thrashed Afghanistan by 8 wickets.
In their third game, the Men in Blue thrashed Pakistan by 7 wickets before registering a 7-wicket win over Bangladesh. With 4 wins from as many games, Team India are looking destined to make it to the semifinal of the World Cup for the fourth time in a row.
As far as Rohit Sharma’s performance is concerned, he is India’s leading run-scorer in the competition so far. The right-handed batsman has scored 265 runs in 4 games. After being dismissed for a duck against Australia, he smashed a 63-ball ton against Afghanistan and followed it up with a knock of 86 runs against Pakistan. Against Bangladesh, he scored 48.
Michael Vaughan’s hilarious comment:
In a recent podcast, former cricketers Adam Gilchrist and Michael Vaughan were speaking about Rohit Sharma’s captaincy. Gilchrist heaped praise on the India skipper’s leadership before Michael Vaughan backed him with a hilarious comment. The former England captain hilariously joked that Rohit’s best move as a captain during the game against Pakistan was to stop the DJ from playing ‘Dil, Dil, Pakistan.
“Gilly, you are absolutely spot on about Rohit. His tactical awareness out in the middle, just managing the players, as you mentioned Siraj, giving him an extra over just to give him a boost,” said Michael Vaughan.
“But his best move without doubt, the move that won the game and the Pakistan coach alluded to it afterwards, is Rohit obviously said to the DJ, just do not play ‘Dil, Dil, Pakistan’. If you play, Pakistan will win. Do not play that song. Make sure that they don’t hear that inspirational song. That was clever from Rohit. Most captains don’t think about things like that – DJs, music. Rohit is ahead of his time,” he added.
Doing a great Job Rohit … ?? https://t.co/HYKknP5W6Y

Michael Vaughan was referring to Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur’s bizarre excuse after his team’s loss against India. After the loss, the former Australia and South Africa coach had said:
“Look, I’d be lying if I said that It didn’t seem like an ICC event, tonight, to be brutally honest. It seemed like a bilateral series; it seemed like a BCCI event. I didn’t hear Dil Dil Pakistan coming through the microphones too often tonight.”
