Australia and Pakistan locked horns on Friday (October 20) in the 18th match of the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023. The match took place at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Apart from the action on the field, the match became a big talking point on social media platforms due to several incidents. During the game, a controversial incident took place when a police officer stopped a Pakistani fan from chanting ‘Pakistan Zindabad‘. The officer and the fan were seen arguing as fans on social media slammed the official for his conduct.
In another heartwarming incident, the fans wished Mitchell Marsh on his birthday in a special manner. And another video from the same match has now gone viral. An Australian fan is winning hearts after passionately chanting ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ in the stands. The Indian fans have been heaping praise on the Australian fan for his heartwarming gesture.

Australia won their second game in the ICC World Cup 2023:
Talking about the game, Australia beat Pakistan by 62 runs to register their second win in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023. Asked to bat first, Australia rode on centuries from their openers David Warner and Mitchell Marsh to post a mammoth total of 367/8 in the allotted 50 overs.
Warner smashed 163 runs off just 124 balls while Marsh scored 121 off 108 balls as the duo shared a 259-run stand. For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi picked up 5 wickets for 54 runs in his ten overs and helped his team pull things back a bit in the end.
In reply, Pakistan started well with the bat. Their openers Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq hit half-centuries and shared 134 runs for the first wicket. At one stage, Pakistan were on 269 for 4 and were very much in the game before losing their last six wickets for just 36 runs to be all out for 305. The loss is Pakistan’s second in a row.
Pakistan began their World Cup campaign with wins over the Netherlands and Sri Lanka before losing to India and Australia. On the other hand, Australia suffered defeats against India and South Africa in their first two games before beating Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
