IND vs PAK: BCCI Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar Gives Huge Update On KL Rahul's Injury Following His Inclusion In ODI WC Squad

BCCI chief selector, Ajit Agarkar gave a huge update on KL Rahul’s recovery from his injury after he was included in the ODI World Cup 2023 squad and said that Rahul is looking good currently.
KL Rahul’s return in the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 will be crucial for the Men in Blues since the team has suffered after his injury. India suffered with their middle order during the absence of KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer. Many players auditioned for the number four and five spots but no players could succeed with the role.
Many cricket fans thought that Rahul and Iyer would miss the extravaganza tournament but their inclusion in the squad will surely make them happy.
During the mid-Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season, KL Rahul suffered a thigh injury while fielding in the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) match. Following this, Rahul went through surgery and was out of the field for more than four months.
KL Rahul was included in the Asia Cup 2023 squad for India but the player missed the first two matches for the Men in Blues since he suffered a niggle after recovering from his thigh injury.

On Tuesday (September 5th), Ajit Agarkar revealed the India squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 in a press conference and confirmed that KL Rahul has overcome from the niggle that he suffered earlier.
Ajit Agarkar also added that the Indian player played two 50-over matches during his practice sessions. Agarkar also accepted that he is an important player, and KL Rahul’s inclusion will benefit the team.
“KL Rahul looked really good during the training camp but picked up that niggle which we had talked about just before the Asia Cup which he had mentioned before. But he has gotten over it already.
“In the last few days he has played two 50-over matches. Kept for 50 overs as well and batted for almost for the duration of 50 overs. He is an important player for us and we are happy to have him back,” Ajit Agarkar said.
India will start their ODI World Cup 2023 journey against Australia on October 8th at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
