IND vs PAK: 'Can We Score 300 Against India?' - Kamran Akmal Blasts Babar Azam-led Pakistan Despite Becoming No.1 ODI Team

Former Pakistan National Cricket Team wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal has criticized Babar Azam & Co. despite their 3-0 ODI series victory over the Afghanistan National Cricket Team in Sri Lanka.
The Men In Green and the Afghans recently locked horns in a three-match ODI series in Sri Lanka. Under the leadership of Hashmatullah Shahidi, Afghanistan performed well, particularly in the bowling department, but they failed to handle the pressure of crunch situations and lost the series.
Pakistan won the matches by the margin of 142 runs, 1 wicket, and 59 runs to seal the victory and overtake Australia for the No. 1 spot in the ICC Men’s ODI Rankings.
Even after Pakistan’s win, Kamran Akmal was not satisfied with the performance of the players, and while speaking on his YouTube channel he shared his views on the series. The former wicketkeeper-batter was especially disappointed with the batting department and said that Pakistan’s inability to post 300 runs while batting first is a concern ahead of the Asia Cup 2023.
“In modern-day cricket, every batsman has to play positive. If we can’t score 300 against this team, can we do that when we face India in the Asia Cup? It becomes pretty difficult,” he said.
The batters should’ve shown more responsibility – Kamran Akmal
Kamran Akmal added that Pakistan had a great opportunity to put big scores on the board, but they failed miserably. He also opined that the batting department led by captain Babar Azam should have shown more responsibility.
“It was a good practice opportunity for Pakistan team, we got a chance in two games to bat first and put on a big score. The batters should’ve shown more responsibility,” Kamran said on his official YouTube channel.
Kamran Akmal acknowledged the fact that Pakistan breached the 300-run mark while chasing the target in the second ODI but pinpointed that the lower-order of the side finished the game and the top-order and middle-order batters should have done the job.
“Yes, you scored 300 in the second game. But batters should’ve finished the game. It was a lower-order who finished the run-chase for you. It’s not a good sign for Pakistan team,”he said.
