The high-octane ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 clash between Rohit Sharma-led India National Cricket Team and Babar Azam-led Pakistan National Cricket Team was held on October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

India won the toss and elected to bowl first in the match. The Men In Blue entered the clash with one change in the playing XI as Shubman Gill replaced Ishan Kishan. The Men In Green, on the other hand, made no changes to their playing XI.

After being invited to bat first, the Pakistan openers Abdullah Shafique (20) and Imam-ul-Haq (36) looked good in the middle and played some beautiful strokes. However, they were unable to convert their good starts into big scores.

Then, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan joined hands and batted really well. The duo played cautious cricket and added 82 runs in 103 balls. The Men In Green lost their second wicket at the score 155 and then came a horrible time for the side.

Pakistan suffered an awful collapse and went from 155/2 to 191/10 to lose their last 8 wickets for just 36 runs. All Indian bowlers barring Shardul Thakur absolutely dominated with the ball and bagged two wickets each.

Chasing the target, Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma came out all guns blazing and they took the Pakistan pacers to the cleaners. Gill perished for 16 but Rohit kept playing amazing cricket. The Indian captain annihilated Pakistan bowlers and left them frustrated with his attacking brand of cricket.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma had a good 56-run partnership in 42 balls before the former got out for 16. Rohit kept going strong and added 77 runs in 71 balls with Shreyas Iyer, but missed out on his well-deserved ton.

Rohit Sharma scored a sensational 86 runs off 63 balls, with 6 fours and 6 sixes. In the end, Shreyas Iyer remained unbeaten and smashed 53 runs to guide India to a dominant victory alongside KL Rahul (19).

India National Cricket Team hammered the Pakistan National Cricket Team by 7 wickets with 117 balls remaining to continue their winning streak in the 50-over World Cups, which now stands at 8-0.
