Former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir lavished rich praise on Team India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah ahead of the game against Pakistan in T20 World Cup 2024. He said that the pacer is the best all-format bowler in the world and is the X factor for India in every format.

Jasprit Bumrah is arguably one of the best pacers that the game of cricket has produced. In a country, which is known for producing batters, India has found a diamond in Bumrah as he has been exceptional for the team ever since he came onto the scene.

Jasprit Bumrah irrespective of the format has been exceptional for Team India. Be it T20Is, ODIs, Tests, or the IPL, the fast bowler is equally effective and is one of the vital cogs in the wheel for his national team as well as the Mumbai Indians in the league.

Jasprit Bumrah’s awareness of the game is something that sets him apart from the others. The fast bowler with his impeccable lines and lengths has often troubled some of the big batters in the game and has put his team in winning positions.

Jasprit Bumrah is currently part of the Indian team for the T20 World Cup 2024. The fast bowler looked in tremendous touch in the IPL 2024, where he picked 20 wickets, and would be keen to continue his form in the ongoing tournament as well.

Gautam Gambhir said that Jasprit Bumrah should be appreciated as fans do for some of the Indian batters, seemingly taking a dig at Virat Kohli and his fans. While touting the fast bowler as an X factor, he said that India is very fortunate to have him. Speaking to Sportskeeda, he explained:

“He is the best all-format bowler in the world. I have said it long before. I think we talk about a lot of Indian batters. I think he should get the appreciation that a lot of Indian batters get. Unfortunately, he doesn't get it. He is the X-factor in every format, every condition, every tournament.

“Whichever team Jasprit Bumrah plays for and whichever format he plays for, he is the X-factor. He is the game changer. And he is by far the best bowler in the world right now by a distance, by a mile. I think it's very fortunate that India has got someone like him.”

Gautam Gambhir also talked about what makes Jasprit Bumrah X factor. He stated that a fast bowler’s thinking and control over the ball make him unique. He concluded by saying that the pacer is the most complete bowler currently. He explained:

“A lot of people will say it's his action. But I think it's his thinking, his control. Action is one thing and control is another. No matter how different your action is, you should be able to control and execute whatever you want to execute. All these things are important.

“I don't just make a good bowler's action good. His execution, his planning, his thinking, which ball to hit on which stage, in which situation. You can execute the ball you want to hit. He has got everything. I think he is the complete bowler at the moment.”
