On Saturday (September 2nd), the most anticipated match of the Asia Cup 2023, India vs Pakistan took place at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.

The fans of both teams were not happy with the outcome of the result, since the match was abandoned after rain spoiled the game.

In the first inning, the top order of the Indian batting order failed to make a mark and suffered in front of the Pakistani bowling attack.

However, Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya came on the crease to hold the situation and take India to a better place after making a solid partnership.

Ishan Kishan scored 82 runs from 81 balls with a strike rate of 101.23. On the other hand, Hardik Pandya played an 87-run knock in 90 balls with a strike rate of 96.67.

Shaheen Afridi once again proved why he is the most dangerous bowler with new ball, the young Pakistani pacer dismissed Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the initial overs of the first inning.

Afridi picked four wickets and gave away 35 runs in his 10-over spell. Meanwhile, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf both took three wickets in their bag.

After the heavyweight match between India vs Pakistan got abandoned, Babar Azam-led Men in Green became the first team to qualify in the Super Four of the Asia Cup 2023.

The tickets are not fully sold: an SLC official on the India vs Pakistan match

While talking to PTI, an SLC official revealed that the tickets were not fully sold out of the high voltage match. The official revealed that the tickets of India vs Pakistan match tickets were available till the last moment.

“The tickets are not fully sold, as you can see. In fact, the sale of tickets was on even yesterday evening at Kandy and Colombo. There were not many takers for the top-end tickets in the Grand Stand,” an SLC official.

A businessman based in Colombo said that tickets were available which proves that there is no craze regarding the match between the two giants.

“Tickets were readily available. In fact, I got the ticket yesterday in Colombo. We thought tickets will not be available because it is an India vs Pakistan match. But we are not complaining. After all, we can watch an India vs Pakistan match without the frenzy that we often have to go through in India,” told Varun Ghosh, who runs his business in Colombo.

Rohit Sharma’s India will square off against Nepal in the fifth match of the Asia Cup 2023 on Monday (September 4th) at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.
