IND vs PAK: "Jay Shah Must Resign" - Fans Slam ACC President As India vs Pakistan Moves To Reserve Day Due To Rain

Fans on X slammed Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president Jay Shah after the Super Four game between India and Pakistan moved to reserve day following heavy rains in Colombo on 10th September. 

It was another disappointing day for the fans as the match between India and Pakistan yet again was marred due to the rain. The game between two arch-rivals in the league stage was washed out after the first innings of the game in Pallekele. 

It was expected that we would witness a full game in round two of their clash. The weather looked perfect for some time as around 25 overs took place. But after that it poured cats and dogs and no further play was possible.

The game will now be heading to reserve day on Monday (11th September). There are high chances that the rain will again play spoilsport because the forecast isn’t great tomorrow either. Following this ACC President Jay Shah has come under scanner. 

Jay Shah has received a lot of flak from fans and pundits for scheduling of the tournament, especially when the forecast wasn’t great in Sri Lanka. Rain in particular has played a massive part in India’s games as not only against Pakistan, it also played spoilsport in the match against Nepal. 

In today’s game, only 24.1 overs of the game were possible. Pakistan won the toss and opted to field first. Indian openers, however, batted beautifully. Shubman Gill (58) and Rohit Sharma (56) smashed blistering half-centuries and stitched 121 runs for the opening partnership. 

Virat Kohli then was batting at 8 runs off 16 balls along with KL Rahul, who was unbeaten at 17 runs off 28 balls before rain interrupted the game. During the halt, India were 147/2 in 24.1 overs. For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi and Shahdab Khan picked wickets.
