The third game of the Super Four of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 is currently taking between Pakistan and India in Colombo. The Men in Green have suffered a massive blow within the first 30 minutes of the game as premier pacer Shaheen Afridi has injured himself.

Shaheen Afridi hurt his finger while fielding near the boundary ropes. Pakistan won the toss and opted to field first. The left-arm pacer bowled the first over of the game and conceded six runs. However, on the first ball of the second over he while attempting to take a catch got his finger hurt.

Naseem Shah bowled a short and wide delivery to which Shubman Gill got a flying edge. The ball went in a flash towards the third man, where Shaheen Afridi was stationed. He came running to grab the catch but the ball fell in front of him. He got his finger stuck in the ground and looked in discomfort.

Shaheen Afridi after that didn’t look in great touch as he seemed to be in pain. The left-arm pacer left the field after that to get some treatment. He, however, applied pain spray on the sidelines of the boundary but that didn’t work.

After getting some treatment, Shaheen Afridi was seen back in the field. The pacer didn’t bowl a long spell as he was bowled just three overs inside the powerplay.

IND vs PAK: Shubman Gill takes attack to Shaheen Afridi

Indian batter Shubman Gill has come out with a staggering intent in the ongoing game. The batter smashed Shaheen Afridi all over the park in the game and made him look clueless. The batter played two overs against him and played crisp shots.

Shubman Gill smashed six boundaries in the 12 balls that he faced against Shaheen Afridi. Not only him, but he has also taken attack to other Pakistani bowlers and has scored runs all over the park, giving India a fiery start.
