Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan expressed confidence in the team’s ability to win the match against India in the ICC World Cup 2023. Mohammad Rizwan emphasised that the Pakistan team had winning momentum before the high-octane game.

Pakistan secured a six-wicket victory against Sri Lanka at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Tuesday, October 10. The Babar Azam-led team successfully chased down a target of 345 runs, marking the highest successful chase in World Cup history.

Felt Like I Was Playing A Match In Pindi – Mohammad Rizwan

Speaking at a post-match press conference, Mohammad Rizwan said that Pakistan and India would come prepared with their respective plans for the upcoming match.

“We now have momentum. Tomorrow, our next match, everyone knows that it is with India, but they will also come with a plan, we will also come with a plan,” Rizwan told reporters.

“And where you talked about Hyderabad, I felt like I was playing a match in Pindi. The way the crowd gave love today, and not just me, the whole Pakistan team gave love. In fact, they supported Sri Lanka too. Because I am happy that the crowd in Hyderabad has supported cricket, both Sri Lanka and us. I had a lot of fun with them,” Rizwan said.

The 31-year-old scored an unbeaten 131 off 121 deliveries with the help of eight bounces and three sixes. He played till the end despite struggling with cramps throughout his innings. He was named Player of the Match for his knock.

Curator Said, You Must Hit Two 100s – Mohammad Rizwan

Rizwan revealed that the curator encouraged him to score two centuries on the ground, and he expressed his admiration for the curator’s well-being.

“The curator here said the same thing to me. When we got to the ground for the first time, he said, Rizwan, you must hit two 100s on this ground. I met him today as well. We can pray for him, and you should pray for him too,” Rizwan said.

The Men in Green played their first two matches of the World Cup in Hyderabad. Rizwan scored 199 runs in two innings at an outstanding average of 199 and a strike rate of 101.53. The right-handed batter is the current leading run-getter in the World Cup.
