Former India National Cricket Team all-rounder Irfan Pathan mocked Pakistan after the Asia Cup 2023 clash between the arch-rivals was called off as the rain played the spoilsport.

Although the first ODI between India and Pakistan since the 2019 World Cup ended in a no-result, the fans saw a great contest between the bat and ball in the only innings that took place in the match.

Winning the toss and batting first, India openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill looked decent in the middle against the dangerous Pakistan new-ball bowlers. However, after a short rain break things completely changed as Shaheen Afridi removed both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli for low scores.

Soon, the express pacer joined the party and dismissed Shreyas Iyer and Shubman Gill to leave India tottering at 66/4. It looked like India would be bundled out for a low total, but Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya made sure that didn’t happen and they rescued India from 66 for 4 with their sensational performances.

Ishan Kishan scored 82 while Hardik Pandya scored 87 and the duo were involved in an exceptional 138 runs partnership that pushed Pakistan out of the game for a while. However, Pakistan bowlers made a terrific comeback by picking wickets at regular intervals and bundling out India for 266 in 48.5 overs.

Meanwhile, the run-chase of Team Pakistan wasn’t able to start as the rain played spoilsport and the match between the arch-rivals was abandoned.

After the match, Irfan Pathan, who is one of the commentators of Star Sports for the Asia Cup 2023, took to Twitter to mock Pakistan fans, saying that the televisions of the Pakistani fans were saved after rain played spoilsport in the match. Irfan Pathan was indicating that India would have beaten Pakistan had the match been completed and the Pakistan fans in rage would have broken their television screens.

Irfan Pathan also lauded Shaheen Shah Afridi for his terrific 4-wicket haul against India.

Irfan Pathan also shared a post, praising Ishan Kishan for his sensational performance in the match.
