The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad has turned into a fortress ahead of the highly-anticipated India vs Pakistan clash in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023. The arch-rivals are scheduled to lock horns against each other in the much-awaited clash on Saturday (October 14).

And to make sure that nothing untoward happens during the game, the security agencies are taking all the possible measures. According to a report in CricketNext, the venue was buzzing with ‘a lot of security personnel’ on the eve of the game. Personnel not only from Gujarat Police but Rapid Action Force as well as bomb disposal squad teams were at the venue to ensure the highest security for the high-profile game.

More than thousands of personnel from Gujarat Police will be at the Narendra Modi Stadium for the India vs Pakistan game. The report stated that the road leading to the stadium will be shut early in the morning on Saturday and only spectators/officials with proper parking stickers/permits will be allowed beyond the barricaded zone.

“Security is going to be very tight. We will have a staff of more than 20,000-25,000 at least tomorrow, can even be more. There will be no shortage of personnel here,” a senior inspector stationed told the news outlet.

Apart from the aforementioned security agencies, there will be four teams of Chetak Commandos at the venue too for the India vs Pakistan game. Each team will have an armored vehicle at their disposal and will be positioned around the stadium.

“We are mostly called for extreme and sensitive situations. That is what we are for. Yes, that is a fully bullet proof vehicle (pointing to a van standing behind them) and we will have these in four zones around the stadium,” said a member of the Chetak Commandos team.

Officials from the cybercrime, crime branch, economic offenses wing, and special operations group will also be present at the venue. Talking about the tournament, both India and Pakistan have started their campaigns by winning their first two games. With form on their side, both the teams will be desperate to win the upcoming India vs Pakistan game as well.
