IND vs PAK: Prasidh Krishna Opens Up On His Learnings From Jasprit Bumrah At NCA, Says "Has Definitely Been Enriching"

Right-arm fast Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna opened up on Jasprit Bumrah and revealed what he learned from the 29-year-old during their time at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru when both the players were injured and were going through their rehabilitation process.

Prasidh Krishna made his T20I debut for the Men in Blue in the three-match T20I series against Ireland, where the 27-year-old picked four wickets in the series. Krishna has been recently included in the Asia Cup 2023 squad to give extra oxygen to the Indian fast-bowling attack.

Jasprit Bumrah who was also injured for more than 10 months made a return in the Ireland series and led the Men in Blue to a 2-0 series victory. In the series, Bumrah showcased a stunning performance after returning from injury and picked up four wickets.

While speaking on Jio Cinema, Prasidh Krishna said that working closely with Bumrah has enriched his skills and Bumrah’s way of performing under pressure has been inspiring.

Krishna said that both players have learned from each other, and the partnership of the two fast bowlers has already started to pick wickets.

“Working closely with Bumrah during our recovery at the NCA has definitely been enriching. His method of executing under pressure and his ability to keep things straightforward numerous occasions is inspiring. We’ve learned a lot from each other, and our partnership is already yielding results,” Prasidh Krishna said.

The 27-year-old revealed that their rehab at NCA was very productive and they mainly focussed on their well-being before starting to practice bowling and the process has ensured a speedy recovery.

“Our sessions at the NCA were thoroughly productive. The clarity we maintained and the regular assessment of our physical and mental fitness helped us achieve our rehabilitation goals. We initially concentrated on promoting overall well-being before transitioning into bowling practice. This approach ensured a steady recovery and helped in preparing us for match conditions,” Prasidh Krishna added.

Rohit Sharma-led India will start their Asia Cup 2023 campaign against Babar Azam’s Pakistan on Saturday (September 2nd) at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Sri Lanka.
