IND vs PAK: Revealed - What will happen if India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup 2024 match gets washed out as rain threatens to play spoilsport

Team India and Pakistan are set to lock horns against each other in the 19th game of the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. The game is scheduled to be played on Sunday (June 9) from 8 PM (IST) at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
It is a huge game for both the teams and none of them can afford too many slipups. Before the start of the tournament, India and Pakistan's qualification to the next stage looked like a mere formality. However, USA's stunning display in the competition has made the situation complicated.
While India have started their campaign with a win and are looking set to make it to the next round, Pakistan are in a spot of bother. They began their campaign with a loss against USA who are currently at the top of the points table with 4 points from 2 matches.
Even though India have made a perfect start, they just cannot afford to lose points against Pakistan. On the other hand, Pakistan will be desperate to beat India to open their account and revive their campaign.
What if rain washes out the India vs Pakistan clash?
While neither India nor Pakistan can afford to drop any points on Sunday, rain can play spoilsport. It has been raining in New York ahead of the game and the conditions are not promising at all. As per the latest reports, there are dark clouds all over and the rain is getting heavier with each passing moment.
While both the teams and the fans will be hoping that the game takes place, it all depends on the weather conditions. There is a good chance that the game gets washed out. According to a report in AccuWeather, there will be a hundred percent cloud cover throughout the game.
The cut-off time to start a full 20-over game is 9:30 PM (IST) and after that, the overs will start getting reduced. As there is no reserve day for the group stage games, both teams will be awarded one point each if the game gets completely washed out.
